ABOUT US
Purpose
To provide the highest quality water and power in an ecologically sustainable way, by wholistic practice, affordably.
Organisation
WAPSEC is truly an internet born partnership between John Zulaikha from Australia and Helmut G. Schuster from Germany. A chance idea, an invention on a web page and an email led to hours on the phone, and then we discovered Skype:) WAPSEC Water & Power Security was born in 2007.
Schuster has been working in water for years building water infrastructure for the very poorest to the very richest. Zulaikha, a sound engineer of 30 years turned left at university straight into ecological sustainability.
Schuster experienced working alongside governments, leading German and international inventors, innovators and marketing companies on many levels. Zulaikha appreciates the role government policies have shaped German engineering with the will to become world leaders in new energy. The information exchange directly benefitted Australian ingenuity that ironically is being exported to Germany - thus the formation of AGES ALLIANCE - Australia Germany Eco Sustainable Alliance - and the innovative edge of WAPSEC.
WAPSEC Water & Power Security is building bridges between Wapsec Research, public, private and government sectors, by sharing best practice in Technology Transfer, Intellectual Property and Cooperative Research and Development.

John J. Zulaikha Social Ecologist
Founder and Managing Director, Wapsec Pty Ltd.
Social Ecologist, Sound and Music Engineer.
Founding Member of AGES ALLIANCE, Australia Germany Eco Sustainable Alliance.
John Zulaikha worked as a recording engineer-producer spanning 60's to 90's, built 2 'state of the art' studios and pioneered unique recording systems in Sydney Australia. From the '60's valve sound, through transistors, discrete, ic's and finally digital, audio and mixing techniques and technologies exploded in the aftermath of The Beatles, and matching different technologies whilst maintaining highest audio quality was intrinsic to the times, as was acoustics and ergonomics. Zulaikha's unique skill set is being applied tangentially towards technologies that produce clean water and power.
Zulaikha developed a unique recording system at Emerald City, enabling simultaneous live microphone recording, midi tracking, overdubbing, mixing, video synchronization (even midi driven video-editing in the early 90's) which allowed a new freedom to manage sessions, allowing playing, singing and mixing all the same time. The "last minute" dialog or vocal or solo line was needed to be re-recorded, it involved a few patch cords and switching but it was possible.
The music-recording-studio was Zulaikha's instrument and a most fertile playground since 1969. At 46, there was a calling for more. Zulaikha jumped tracks and went to University to study Social Ecology, ecological sustainability, future studies, systems, complexity, eco systems and the carbon cycle, which led directly to the realization of the limitations on "water". A chance meeting with a veteran hydroelectric engineer took Zulaikha under his wing imparting everything about hydro pumped storage, and the train became a plane for a while, but managed to land on new tracks with a newly acquired inventive bug... the Watercraft Carrier was a taste.
